Fall and winter seem to bring some of the best seasonal beers, one of my favorite being N’Ice Chouffe by one of my favorite breweries, Brasserie d’Achouffe. N’Ice Chouffe is a dark spiced Belgian beer – well technically for the beer snobs, it’s a Belgian strong dark ale.
In case you hadn’t noticed…it’s fall! And that means, until Christmas takes over, all food stuff is all about pumpkin, including beer! I recently did a pumpkin beer tasting and selected my favorite pumpkin beer as my beer of the month. In doing the taste test though, I also tried making a pumpkin beer float with some of the non-winners, and the results were amazing.
Seeing as it’s October and officially fall, it probably comes as no surprise that this month’s beer of the month is a seasonal pumpkin ale – Dogfish Head Punkin Ale.
Every month, I will feature a beer of the month, since it turns out I like beer – I thought I didn’t until I started drinking the good stuff, i.e. craft beer. For this inaugural post I am featuring one of my favorite beers from what I’d have to say is my favorite brewery. Drum roll please…and the winner is, Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Wild Ale.
