Do you ever get tired of looking at the same stuff in your house? I do for sure. That’s why I like to do a little “updating” every so often to change things out (be it new pillows for the couch, a new coffee table book, or a new tchotchke for my book shelf), just so my eyes don’t glaze over when I walk into my house. New stuff (sadly) makes me feel happy.
When Spring turns to Summer, I find myself pulling the down comforter off of the bed and exchanging it for a quilt. This year I knew I wanted to find a new quilt. It was time. I was simply tired of looking at the old one that comes out every summer. And, since the bed is such focal point in the bedroom, changing out the comforter can make you feel like you redid the entire bedroom. It’s also relatively inexpensive to buy new bedding (provided you know where to shop), yet it makes such a big difference in a bedroom.
I was on the hunt and it took some time, but alas, success! I found this quilt, pillow shams, and accent pillow at T.J. Maxx and Homegoods (I had to go to two stores to find the combination) for $80 total. I think it was worth it!
I find that vintage dish towels are a sure fire way to brighten up and give your kitchen some character.
