November brings to mind dinner, specifically Thanksgiving dinner, the pinnacle of all dinners of the year. So, for this month’s playlist, I figured I would create a playlist of dinner music to enjoy during Thanksgiving dinner and beyond.
This month’s playlist is (maybe not surprisingly) Halloween themed because, well…I love Halloween. It’s one of my favorite holidays because it revolves around two of my favorite things – candy and costumes. Plus, Halloween seems to signal the start of the holiday season, which I always look forward to. Halloween is also a great way to ramp up for the craziness that comes in November and December – so it’s really like a practice holiday.
This month’s playlist is heavy on both goth and metal because those two genres naturally have so much Halloween themed music, even though the artists might not have intended it that way. I mean, what is Halloween without Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, and Siouxsie and the Banshees? With all the makeup and black clothes, they look like they’re celebrating Halloween 365 days a year anyway. And for that matter, you can’t celebrate Halloween without listening to Thriller and the Monster Mash at least once! I’ve assembled all that and more for your October listening pleasure. Happy Halloween!
For this month’s playlist I compiled some songs that I’ve been enjoying as of late. They’re mostly new releases, with a couple of tracks thrown in there that came out earlier this year that I’m just discovering or circling back to.
The jump off for this month’s playlist is my current guilty pleasure song, “Don’t Drop That Thun Thun” by the Finatticz. Unfortunately, the song is no longer on Spotify, so I can’t share it with you on this playlist, but follow the link above and pretty pretty please check it out, as long as you promise not to think different of me for loving it…
